Sinclair ready to fight for his place at Celtic
Scott Sinclair says he will fight for his place at Celtic, following his positive impact at the weekend.
The Hoops eased to a 3-0 win over Airdrieonians on Saturday, sealing their place in last 16 of the Scottish Cup.
Sinclair bagged two of his side’s goals, with the winger’s influence plain to see, as he earned some rare playing time.
The much-maligned figure also missed a penalty and another glorious opportunity, but it was a good day at the office, nonetheless.
Sinclair told the Daily Record that he will continue to battle for playing time, as he looks to become more of a key man between now and May:
I’m still hungry. I just concentrate on my game and keep performing. That’s all I can do.
The manager has brought in players and it creates good, healthy competition.
It keeps everyone on their toes and it makes sure that everyone keeps performing. So it’s good for everyone.
Sinclair has only made 12 starts in the Scottish Premiership this season, in what has been a frustrating campaign for him.
His brace at the weekend is sure to give him plenty of confidence, however, and Brendan Rodgers will likely have been impressed with the former Manchester City’s man’s impact.
