Weah hails “amazing” Rodgers and fellow teammates
Timothy Weah has heaped praise on Brendan Rodgers and his new Celtic teammates, following a goalscoring debut for the club.
The American made his first Hoops appearance in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Airdrieonians in the Scottish Cup, completing the scoring on the day.
Weah is seen as a hugely exciting prospect and this was the perfect start to life at Celtic, after joining on loan from Paris Saint-Germain this month.
Speaking to the Glasgow Evening Times, the 18-year-old lauded the impact of Brendan Rodgers and his fellow teammates:
I have been so impressed with everything. The gaffer has been amazing and my new team-mates have been great and I feel settled here already.
It makes it easy then to go out and play football.
I know there are a lot of games coming up with matches on a weekend and on midweek so I hope that there will be a lot of chances for me to get on the field.
It was insane to score on my debut. It is what you dream of. But I know that there will be more goals to come from me.
Weah could be an influential signing in the Scottish Premiership title race, as Celtic look to secure the much discussed ‘treble treble’ this season.
While Rangers went out and signed Jermain Defoe on loan, strengthening their own chances in the process, the Hoops have gone and done exactly the same.
