Christie issues Celtic rallying cry ahead of St Mirren clash
Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie has urged the rest of the squad to make a mark during the second half of the season and start as they mean to go on.
The Hoops get their league campaign back underway after the winter break with a game against St Mirren on Wednesday night.
Speaking ahead of the game, as reported by BT Sport, Christie talked up the need for a positive result for Celtic.
We have spoken a lot about coming back after the break and really wanting to stamp our authority in the games coming up and put down a marker and that starts with St Mirren.
A lot has been said about how competitive the league is this year. That’s good for the league as a whole.
For us, we want to kick on. Hopefully, first and foremost, stay top of the league and if we can start getting a gap between us and the rest of the teams, that’s what we are looking to do.
The break came at the right time. It’s always nice to get that breather after such a hectic December.
With Rangers sitting closely behind them in second place, Celtic know they need to hit the ground running and Christie is confident that the club can show off their title ambitions.
Will Celtic beat St Mirren on Wednesday night?

Steven Gerrard’s side put the pressure on Celtic with their victory in the derby prior to the winter break, but the Hoops remain top of the pile in Scotland.
Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that the mid-season break to Dubai has rejuvenated his squad ahead of the second half of the campaign.
