Celtic have bid for Timothy Castagne rejected by Atalanta

Celtic have had a bid for Timothy Castagne rejected by Atalanta, according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A side apparently deemed the offer as too low and with so little time left in the transfer window, they didn’t want to enter negotiations as they didn’t think that they’d have enough time to find a suitable replacement.

Atalanta had apparently told interested parties that they were looking for around £6million for the Belgian international but there are no reports as to how much Celtic were willing to pay for him.

Lazio have been long-term admirers and have followed the player for some time and with Atalanta being aware of the interest in the player, they had no desire to let him go on the cheap.
