A flying second half start saw Celtic cruise to a 2-0 victory over St. Johnstone to leap six points clear at the top of the Premiership.
Strikes from Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie settled the nerves at Parkhead after a frustrating first half.
Scott Sinclair came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first 45 with a close range header but a terrific save from Zander Clark in the Saints goal prevented the Englishman from continuing his recent rich vein of form.
The hosts dominated possession but some more shots at goal wouldn’t have gone a miss with Tommy Wright’s side camped behind the ball.
Into the second period, McGregor was rewarded for taking a strike at goal as he picked out the far corner with a powerful drive to put his side a goal up.
A second came minutes later with a sumptuous touch inside the box from Chrisite to open up the goal and the midfielder curled in a lovely finish into the top corner.
Celtic had chances thereafter to increase their tally but ultimately eased to the win.
