Sunderland have confirmed the loan signing of Celtic’s Lewis Morgan.
As reported by the club’s official website, the 22-year-old will see out the season with the League One side.
Morgan had found game time hard to come by during the first half of the season at Celtic and will link up with Jack Ross in England, a manager he knows well from his time with St Mirren.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Morgan at Celtic, but the player will be hoping to get some regular minutes under his belt during the second half of the season.
Sunderland are pushing for promotion back to the Championship this season and Ross’ side currently sit fifth in League One, with a few games in hand on league leaders Luton Town.
Promotion and an impressive stint in England could be enough to put Morgan back in Brendan Rodgers’ plans.
