Mulumbu departs for Kilmarnock on loan
Celtic midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has rejoined Kilmarnock on loan for the remainder of the season, reports The Scotsman.
The 32-year-old spent time at Kilmarnock last season, where he became popular amongst the supporters and made 20 appearances.
He only joined Celtic last summer but has been left frustrated with the lack of first team opportunities at Parkhead, with this move proving timely.
With just three appearances under his belt so far under Brendan Rogers this season, Mulumbu was keen to depart and get regular playing time, which Scottish Premiership contenders Kilmarnock could offer.
Killie sit third in the table, level on point with second-placed Rangers and five points behind Celtic.
The Rugby Park outfit were looking to bolster their midfield ranks in this transfer window, so a return for Mulumbu could prove a step in the right direction.
The Congolese international becomes Kilmarnock’s fourth January signing, following the arrivals of Alex Bruce, Liam Millar and Conor McAleny.
