Ryan Christie has hailed Scott Brown after the Celtic captain put pen to paper on a new two-year deal.
As reported by the Scotsman, Christie explains why Brown still has plenty to offer at the very highest level for Celtic.
Having previously struggled with injuries earlier this season, Brown has played a less prominent role so far, but Christie is confident that the midfielder is still a crucial part of the Hoops squad.
It’s not the first time Broony has been written off. He keeps coming back and proving people wrong. When he was out earlier in the season, a few people questioned whether he would make it back into the team but since the winter break he has been superb.
Christie went on to explain why the midfield is so important to the way Celtic play.
He breaks up the play and that’s important because when teams come to Celtic Park we like to be relentless in our attack and keep them under pressure. So you need someone in the middle of the park who will keep winning the ball for you and Broony does that probably better than anyone else.

It was confirmed on transfer deadline that Brown will be extending his stay at Celtic, putting an end to rumours about his future.
After attracting interest from Australia, it looked as if his time at Parkhead could be coming to an end.
That is not the case and the Hoops will now be calling on all his experience to see them through in this season’s title race.
