Sunday’s win over St Johnstone was compounded by injury concerns, with Odsonne Edouard, James Forrest and Mikael Lustig all coming away from the game with respective knocks.
As many as nine senior players are nursing injuries or making their way back to full fitness in training.
While Leigh Griffiths is also unavailable, with the striker taking a break from the game.
Brendan Rodgers has never been afraid to give youngsters a chance and it is unlikely to be too long before Dembele is handed a run in the first-team squad.
