Jozo Simunovic is set to find out if he will face further action for a tackle on Hibernian’s Oli Shaw, report the Daily Record.

The Celtic defender appeared to lead with his elbow during the Hoops’ 2-0 win on Wednesday night, leaving his opponent injured.

Shaw was subsequently substituted at half-time at Parkhead, with his involvement in Hibs’ Scottish Cup clash with Raith Rovers now up in the air.

Caretaker manager Eddie May described the challenge as “pretty poor” after the game and the SFA compliance officer will now have another look at the incident.

A decision regarding Simunovic is expected by 3pm on Friday, with any ban coming his way potentially ruling him out of Sunday’s cup meeting with St Johnstone.

The 24-year-old has been a solid presence for Celtic since joining from Dinamo Zagreb back in 2015.

He has 72 appearances to his name for the Hoops, scoring twice in the process.
