Celtic cruised into the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup with a scintillating performance to beat St. Johnstone 5-0.
Scott Sinclair bagged a hat-trick with captain Scott Brown and James Forrest getting the other goals.
It took just minutes for the hosts to jump in front as Oliver Burke drove into the box and rolled the ball across to Sinclair who fired home from a tight angle.
Before the Saints could get a foothold in the game it was 2-0. Brown gathered the ball outside the box before unleashing a stunning strike into the top corner, giving Zander Clark no chance.
James Forrest grabbed his goal early in the second half after a brilliant run to split the defence from Jonny Hayes before the Scot found the net through the legs of Clark.
The fourth once again came from great running by Burke in behind as he drove to the byline and sent across an inch-perfect pass for Sinclair to tap home.
There was still time for a fifth goal late on as the ball fell kindly for Sinclair who cut inside to slam in his third.
Here’s how we rated the players after the emphatic win.
Scott Bain: 7
Yet another clean sheet for Bain who made a great save to tip away Chris Kane’s first-half effort.
His distribution was good throughout.
Jeremy Toljan: 7
Toljan was a real threat down the right, especially in the second half.
Dedryck Boyata: 6
A solid performance bar a couple of slack passes in the first period.
Jozo Simunovic: 6
Simunovic was calm in defence and drove forward well when space opened up.
Replaced by Ajer at half time after feeling unwell.
Jonny Hayes: 8
A great afternoon at left back for Hayes as he defended with great effort and showed real confidence going forward.
Hayes created the third with an interception and run before assisting Forrest.
Scott Brown: 8
Another excellent display for the skipper and he even managed to bag himself a goal.
His bullet of strike flew into the net before he controlled the play and showed great energy to get back when needed.
Callum McGregor: 6
Kept things ticking over in the middle of the pitch in a fairly quiet game for his standards.
Ryan Christie: 6
Made a couple of neat passes to set up some chances but didn’t have as much of impact on the game as he has done in previous games.
James Forrest: 7
Got his goal on his return to the side and combined well with Toljan down the right while looking really sharp.
Oliver Burke: 8
Got two assists in the game as his direct and strong running was a nightmare for the Saints defence.
Should have got a goal for himself but couldn’t get a hold of his shot as he raced through on goal.
Scott Sinclair: 9
Three great finishes to send his team on their way to victory. Continues his great run of form.
(SUB) Kristoffer Ajer: 6
Replaced Simunovic at half time and looked comfortable.
(SUB) Odsonne Edouard: 5
Replaced Christie and played slightly deeper than usual.
Good for him to get more minutes as he gets back to full fitness.
(SUB) Timothy Weah: 5
Came on for Burke but was pretty quiet.
