Celtic cruised into the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup with a scintillating performance to beat St. Johnstone 5-0.

Scott Sinclair bagged a hat-trick with captain Scott Brown and James Forrest getting the other goals.

It took just minutes for the hosts to jump in front as Oliver Burke drove into the box and rolled the ball across to Sinclair who fired home from a tight angle.

Before the Saints could get a foothold in the game it was 2-0. Brown gathered the ball outside the box before unleashing a stunning strike into the top corner, giving Zander Clark no chance.

James Forrest grabbed his goal early in the second half after a brilliant run to split the defence from Jonny Hayes before the Scot found the net through the legs of Clark.

The fourth once again came from great running by Burke in behind as he drove to the byline and sent across an inch-perfect pass for Sinclair to tap home.

There was still time for a fifth goal late on as the ball fell kindly for Sinclair who cut inside to slam in his third.

Here’s how we rated the players after the emphatic win.
