Oliver Burke could be ruled out of Celtic’s Europa League tie with Valencia on Thursday night after suffering a suspected twisted ankle, as per a report from The Daily Record.
The attacker produced an excellent display during the Hoops’ 5-0 victory against St Johnstone on Sunday, assisting Scott Sinclair twice, and has impressed following his loan move to the club from West Brom in the January transfer window.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers could be without the forward for the first leg of their Europa League clash with Valencia, though, as the squad’s injury list continues to grow.
Rodgers is hopeful that Burke will be fit, however. The Northern Irishman said:
He twisted his ankle a little bit on the tackle but we’re hoping he’ll be OK.
The likes of Kieran Tierney and Olivier Ntcham are also doubts ahead of Thursday night’s clash with the La Liga side, and the pair both missed Saturday’s win over St Johnstone.
Celtic remain six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership following the victory.
