Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that Valencia defenders will be frightened of Oliver Burke’s pace.

The Hoops host Spanish side Valencia at Celtic Park on Thursday in the first leg of their Europa League last 32 tie.

Burke was an injury doubt heading into the game, after he limped off the pitch against St. Johnstone at the weekend.

Brendan Rodgers watched his side win 5-0 in the Scottish Cup, but will have been concerned as his striker was forced off with an injury.

However, speaking to The Daily Record, Rodgers said this

Oli took a knock to his ankle. We hope he’ll be okay. You see his intensity and the threat he gives us. He was absolutely fantastic. He should be okay for Thursday.

Oli has shown and started to progress as we thought he could. He has wonderful attributes and his pressing sets a real tone.

He’ll be difficult to play against because the one thing that frightens defenders is pace

The on-loan West Brom forward has managed three goals and two assists in his seven appearances for Celtic so far in all competitions.
