Celtic named among the world’s top 30 clubs
Celtic have been named the 21st biggest club in the world currently, according to a list put together by France Football.
The Hoops continue to dominate the Scottish game under Brendan Rodgers and are on course to secure the ‘treble treble’ and win 10 domestic trophies in a row.
There was no place in the 30-strong group for Rangers, which is sure to be a popular decision among Celtic supporters.
The Daily Record confirm that the list was compiled using criteria such as “number of players in the squad to have won a World Cup, continental titles, revenue, shirt sales and average attendance among others.”
It was the attendance category that Celtic thrived in the most, with Parkhead regularly sold out on matchdays.
Real Madrid earned the number one spot, while rivals Barcelona finished as runners-up.
Manchester United were the highest-ranked English club in third, with Premier League champions Manchester City having to settle for 10th.
