Tierney could make shock return against Valencia

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly pondering a late decision to give Kieran Tierney the nod against Valencia.

According to the Daily Star, Tierney is in contention to feature against the Spanish side on Thursday night.

After nursing a hip injury, the Scottish defender is now believed to be close to a return and the report claims that he is ‘desperate’ to get back up and running.

It’s a timely boost for Celtic, who have a potential left-back dilemma on their hands ahead of the game.

Emilio Izaguirre, the club’s back-up left-back has been struggling in recent weeks.

As a result, Jonny Hayes has been used as a makeshift defender, but that is not something Rodgers wants to take into the Europa League.

Rodgers will reportedly make a decision on Tierney on Wednesday and it remains to be seen if he would start or just be named on the bench.

Tierney has been a huge miss for the Bhoys and his return will be a massive boost for everybody at the club.
