Celtic interim boss Neil Lennon has issued a positive update on the immediate future of striker Leigh Griffiths.
As reported by the Daily Record, Lennon explains that under no circumstances will the striker be rushed back into action by the club.
While no time frame has been put on Griffiths’ return, the striker himself hinted it could be imminent on social media.
Ex-Celtic midfielder Kris Commons also added to the speculation by suggesting Lennon’s appointment could see the striker return quicker than expected.

Lennon refused to confirm any suggestions that the striker could play some part between now and the end of the season.
The sooner we get Leigh back the better. Obviously we are keeping tabs on that as well and want to get him back on the training ground as soon as possible.
Is he close? Not at the minute, no. I don’t know if this season is feasible. We will have to gauge that.
It was Lennon who originally signed Griffiths for the Hoops and the two are known to have a good working relationship from the manager’s previous spell in charge of the Scottish champions.
