Brighton defender Shane Duffy has revealed that he hopes to join Celtic “one day” in the future in response to a question posed by a fan.
According to Belfast Live, the centre-half was asked by a fan if he would like to play for Celtic, to which the 27-year-old replied:
Maybe, one day.
Duffy also included a fingers crossed emoji in his written response to the question on his Instagram story.
The Republic of Ireland international also joked about the possibility of his Irish counterpart and fellow Hoops fan James McClean moving to Parkhead at some stage in his career, saying:

He’s been trying [to sign for Celtic] for years the poor fella.
The possibility of Duffy moving north of the border to join Celtic this season looks relatively slim, however, with the 27-year-old having signed a long-term deal with Brighton earlier this season.
Duffy has been a key figure for the Seagulls since his £4million move from Blackburn in 2016 and the defender has scored five goals in 25 games in the Premier League this season.
