Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer feels that fans who throw objects at players could tarnish the league’s reputation.
During Celtic’s quarter-final Scottish cup victory against Hibernian on Saturday, winger Scott Sinclair was almost struck by a glass bottle of Buckfast.
CCTV footage of the incident shows that a coin also narrowly missed the Hoops talisman. Something that Hibernian have said they are looking into.

Ajer believes that this incident was a step too far following a week where the actions of fans within the league have been in the spotlight and under great interrogation.
As reported by The Scotsman, the Norwegian said:
That’s of course really, really disappointing. Hopefully some action will be taken before a serious injury happens because you can’t sit and wait for the first really bad injury to happen before anything is done.
If this bottle hits Sinclair it could have caused a severe injury. He was lucky not to be hit. Too many times this season a line has been crossed.
Ajer went on to say how he feels the fans in Scotland are among the “best in the world”, saying how incidents like this do not benefit the Scottish game.

But a few fans are destroying the whole picture you get from the stands because of these coins and even a bottle being thrown at the players.
These incidents need to be taken of. They are not great for Scottish football and I hope some action is taken.
