Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has spoken to The Scotsman about the changes that have been made at the club since Neil Lennon came in as interim manager last month.
The former Celtic boss was brought back on a temporary basis when Brendan Rodgers decided to leave to take over at Premier League side Leicester City and he’s had an unbeaten start to his second spell in charge, winning games against Hearts and Hibernian.
When Rodgers left midway through the season, there were worries that his departure could derail Celtic’s attempts to win a third consecutive domestic treble, but Ajer says that not too much has changed under Lennon, who has only made minor tweaks to the style of play that the Champions were used to playing under Rodgers.
He said:
The gaffer has kept things quite similar to what we’ve been used to. A few changes have been made but nothing drastic – just things like how he wants us to build up.
Ajer also praised the leadership abilities of club captain Scott Brown, who he says has helped steady the ship following the change of manager.
Broony’s also’s been helping the whole squad over the past week. You’ve seen the way he is in games and the goals he’s scored; he’s been a leader throughout the whole thing.
