Borussia Dortmund have backed away from their interest in Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.
According to Kicker, via the Daily Record, Borussia Dortmund are not willing to meet Celtic’s valuation of the Scottish left-back.
The report claims that Dortmund feel Celtic’s valuation of Tierney is too expensive, with them wanting a fee in the region of £25m.
Kicker claims that Italian scout Nicola Liguori has dubbed Tierney the “new Patrice Evra” after watching his impressive performances for Celtic this season, both domestically and in the Europa League.
However, despite Tierney’s apparent quality, Dortmund are not yet prepared to spend £25m on the Scottish international at the end of the season.
Premier League side Leicester City, who won the title back in 2016, are also said to be keen on a deal for Tierney. Brendan Rodgers switched Celtic for Leicester earlier this month and is now hoping that Tierney will do the same in the summer.
