Celtic boss Neil Lennon said his players were ‘psychologically exhausted’ earlier this week, following the Hoops draw with Aberdeen on Saturday.
However, the squad looked energetic in training on Friday, with the club’s pursuit of a historic treble treble still very much on the cards.
There were smiles, injury returns and bags of energy on show as the players were put through their paces ahead of Sunday’s Premiership clash against Dundee at Dens Park.
Here are five things we picked up on following Celtic’s training session at Lennoxtown:
McGregor is back from injury
Celtic are currently struggling with a real injury problem at Parkhead, and Callum McGregor has been a huge miss over the past four games.
His return will be a big positive for Lennon, with Celtic clearly a stronger side with him involved.
Izaguirre returns to training
Emilio Izaguirre was pictured participating in squad training, which will be a major positive for Lennon. The Honduran has been out with a knee injury since being stretchered off against Hibernian in early February.
Weah in good spirits
Despite losing his spot in the United States national side during the latest squad announcement, Timothy Weah looked to be in high spirits.
Compper ready for action
Marvin Compper’s Celtic career looked to be on the ropes not so long ago, but a recent lifeline left by Lennon could see Compper feature more often in the end of season run in.
The German’s appearance in training suggests he is at least on the mind of the coach.
Allan looking to impress
Likewise with Compper, Scott Allan is attempting to remove himself from the fringes. The Scotsman will likely be aiming to impress Lennon before the season is up, with his long-term future unclear.
