Lennon to bring Allan back into the fold
Neil Lennon has revealed he is prepared to bring Celtic outcast Scott Allan back into the first-team fold before the season is out.
Allan hasn’t played a single first-team fixture for the Hoops this season, having been frozen out by Brendan Rodgers, and will join Hibernian in the summer after signing a pre-contract agreement in January.
But Lennon claims he will give him the opportunity to play before the season’s end. Speaking before Celtic’s game against Dundee this weekend, as reported by The Scotsman, Lennon said:
I’d like to give him [Allan] some game time between now and the end of the season but because he’s been short of it I can’t risk him at the minute.
There could be a chance of him breaking down. He’s played a few development games but I would like to give him a little run if we can get over the line [in the title race] as quickly as possible but there are no guarantees with that.
If the opportunity comes along then I’d love to. He’s training well and having a go at it and it’s a difficult position he finds himself in. I would like to give him some game time and a few others as well
