Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has been ruled out of Scotland’s game against Kazakhstan.
The BBC have confirmed that both Tierney and Liverpool’s Andy Robertson will sit out of the game, which will leave Callum McGregor to captain the side.
Tierney had been an injury doubt for the meeting, but the news has now been confirmed.
There had been some concerns about the player’s ability to handle the artificial pitch that Scotland are due to play on, but it remains to be seen if or how serious the player’s fitness issues are.
Neil Lennon may be happy to see the Celtic defender sit this one out, with the Glasgow Derby approaching.
The interim Celtic boss has already voiced his concern about a number of his players on international duty and he will not want to lose Tierney ahead of a crucial period of the campaign.
