Ayr United striker Lawrence Shankland, a reported target for Celtic, Swansea and Sunderland, has rejected a big-money move to Belgium.

According to the Daily Record, as cited on Wales Online, second-tier side Saint Gilloise were looking to secure his services as he continues to dominate the headlines in the Scottish Championship.

Shankland is not going to be short of suitors over the summer after a stunning season with Ayr.

The report claims that the move to Saint Gilloise could have trebled Shankland’s wages.

While money may not be the only incentive for Shankland, the report claims that the player has even more lucrative offers on the table.

Swansea have been heavily linked with a move for the player, with Graham Potter’s side in need of added reinforcements in the final third.

Celtic could also be in the market for a striker at the end of the season with both Timothy Weah and Oliver Burke likely to depart at the end of their loan deals.
