Emilio Izaguirre has confirmed he is fit and ready to feature during Celtic’s title run-in.

Speaking while away on international duty with Honduras, as reported by the Daily Record, Izaguirre ensured fans that he will be ready to provide the Hoops with a fitness boost when club football resumes.

Unfortunately, I’ve injured my ankle at the start of March and have been missing since. But I am back in full training now and I feel I am ready to take the next step.

I could have called off from playing for my national team because of the injury, but I never say no to them. And it will be a help for me if I get some game time.

The experienced defender has been out of action since the first-leg defeat against La Liga side Valencia in the Europa League.

After missing five weeks of football, his return will come as a timely boost to Celtic, with concerns over Kieran Tierney’s fitness.

Izaguirre has often divided opinions among supporters upon his return to the club, acting mainly as an understudy to the aforementioned Tierney.

While he may not be a regular in the side these days, having Izaguirre around the squad will be a huge lift to the club as they go in search of a treble Treble.
