Neil Lennon has confirmed that Celtic have arranged a behind-closed-doors friendly in an attempt to get some of their injured stars back to full fitness.
In an interview with Celtic TV, Lennon confirmed that a Hoops XI will line up in a friendly against unconfirmed opponents on Friday.
We’ve got a bounce game on Friday, hopefully, behind closed doors. The players can get some minutes into their legs. And then hopefully they will be declared fit for the game in a couple of weeks.
The meeting has been scheduled with the likes of Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham in mind, who are battling to regain their fitness in time for the end-of-season run-in.
Both players have been huge misses for the Hoops but they are now closing in on a return to action, with Celtic looking to wrap up another league title.
Rogic has a brilliant record against Rangers and the Australian will no doubt be itching to play some part against Steven Gerrard’s side, but the game may come too quickly for the pair.
The midfielder has not featured for the Hoops since the Boxing Day game against Aberdeen.
