Celtic star Dedryck Boyata has withdrawn from the Belgium squad to play Cyprus on Tuesday.
The player was set to travel with his national teammates to face Cyprus in a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier, but has dropped out of the side for “personal reasons”, according to the Daily Record.
The Belgian missed the win over Dundee just before the international break.
Despite this, however, Boyata played 90 minutes for Belgium on Thursday as the Red Devils beat Russia 3-1.
Goals from Youri Tielemans and Eden Hazard handed Belgium a key win in their quest to qualify for next year’s European Championships.
This comes just a week before Celtic have a big clash with Rangers in a crucial game for the Hoops.
There is no suggestion that Boyata is injured, with Belgium not announcing any potential knock when revealing the Celtic man had withdrawn from the squad.
Goalkeeper Mat Selz also dropped out of the Belgium side that will travel to Cyprus.
