Celtic could be about to receive a cash injection, should former striker Moussa Dembele be on the move again this summer.
The Frenchman moved to Lyon for a fee just shy of £20 million a little over a year ago, amidst a considerable amount of ill-feeling from the Hoops supporters.
12 goals and four assists in 19 Ligue 1 starts has attracted the interest of even bigger clubs, with the Daily Mirror reporting that the 22-year-old’s performances have caught the eye of Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal.
With a 10% sell-on fee applying to Dembele, Celtic fans may recall a similar situation in which the Bhoys pocketed £7.5m when former central defender Virgil van Dijk moved from Southampton to Liverpool.
Should Dembele be on the move again, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is known for being a tricky negotiator (seriously, the man is crazy), and would drive up the fee for his player as much as he possibly could.
Which, of course, would mean more money for Celtic! As the Scottish champions seek to add more top-level talent to their squad, it seems as though Moussa Dembele could yet provide a helping hand to his old club.
