Dorus De Vries’ Celtic career will come to an end this summer as the Hoops are set to inform the goalkeeper in the near future that his contract with the club will not be extended at the end of the season.

Despite his recent inclusion in the last five match day squad’s under interim boss Neil Lennon, De Vries will be allowed to leave the club on a free transfer this season upon his contract expiry, Football Insider reveal.

The 38-year-old veteran was signed by former boss Brendan Rodgers in 2016, but has made just 15 appearances in all competitions since his move, though he did feature in Celtic’s 5-1 Glasgow derby win over rivals Rangers in 2016.

De Vries has not featured for the Hoops since a 3-0 victory over Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup quarter final in March 2018, and his disappointing spell at Parkhead looks set to come to an end this summer.
