The 38th and final round of Premiership games are set to take place this weekend. Celtic will host Hearts in a day of celebration as they are awarded the league trophy for the eighth year in a row.
It has been a season full of ups and downs for the Scottish champions, but they have rightfully earned the position they currently find themselves in; a title has been secured and a cup final awaits them.
Craig Levein’s Hearts are on a run of form they will want to put behind them as soon as possible. Their post-split fixtures have seen them lose three of their four games; their only point coming against city rivals Hibs.
Changes may be made for this weekend’s match given both sides will battle it out in the Scottish Cup final on 25 May. Both Levein and Neil Lennon may be taking precautions to ensure key players are fully fit.
Here is our Celtic Predicted XI for Sunday’s game.
GK: Scott Bain
Unlikely to be a change in goal. Bain will see out the season as Celtic’s number one.
RB: Jeremy Toljan
Lustig was subbed off at half-time in last weekend’s defeat to Rangers, Toljan being his replacement. The Dortmund loanee could start this weekend.
CB: Filip Benkovic
Could start the final league game given his loan expires shortly after. It would also give Simunovic a rest as he will likely start ahead of Benkovic in the final.
CB: Kristoffer Ajer
The towering centre-half has enjoyed a good run of games in the team. He’ll be at the heart of the defence this weekend we think.
LB: Emilio Izaguirre
Lennon may opt for the Honduran on Sunday so key player such as Tierney can rest ahead of next weekend. It could be a smart choice.
CM: Scott Brown
Brown will lead his team out on trophy day. He’ll be looking forward to getting his hands on it once again.
CM: Callum McGregor
McGregor will be looking to bounce back after last weekend’s defeat; an off-day for the otherwise quality midfielder.
CM: Olivier Ntcham
Ntcham may be given a start ahead of Rogic to gain match sharpness. The Frenchman’s form has been indifferent of late.
RW: Oliver Burke
With Forrest touch-and-go, the West Brom loanee Burke might have to fill-in from the start. It is likely to be his last league game for the Hoops unless he returns next season.
LW: Scott Sinclair
Sinclair is likely to come back into the starting XI after being benched for the last two games.
ST: Odsonne Edouard
Edouard remains our only fit striker. He can still clinch the league’s top scorer award.
