Dembele vows to work harder than ever ahead of next season
Celtic forward Karamoko Dembele has vowed to work harder than he ever has before to get ready for next season.
Dembele says that he is determined to make his way into the manager’s plans ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, following his first-team debut last weekend.
He came off the bench at half-time in Celtic’s 2-1 win over Hearts in their final league outing – with only the Scottish Cup final left to play.
The 16-year-old impressed in his short time on the pitch, getting fans off their seats with a number of good runs and a decent effort on goal.
As quoted by The Daily Record, Dembele said this:
I must admit, I was more excited than nervous beforehand.
I’ve always wanted to make my professional debut for Celtic, I’ve always wanted to play for Celtic, and I’m obviously so happy that it came earlier than it probably should have, given my age.
Now, it’s about continuing as before. The hard work doesn’t stop here, by no means, in fact, this is where I want to start working harder than ever before.
That’s the league campaign finished, so I want my focus now to be on next season.
I can hopefully go away with the first-team on pre-season, keep working as hard as I possibly can, and try to keep myself in the manager’s plans.
