Celtic’s James Forrest has been awarded the Ladbrokes Premiership Player of the Year.
Forrest has enjoyed another superb campaign for the Hoops, spearheading Celtic’s fight for the treble Treble with 17 goals and 20 assists to his name this season.
On top of this, Forrest has also won the PFA Player of the Year, PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year, and the SFWA Footballer of the Year for his 2018/19 campaign.
The midfielder spoke with the club’s official website on his awards, and he could not be happier with his accolades.
I’m delighted to win another award, and it’s been a tremendous season. At this time in the season, you collect awards both personally and for the team, and it’s a great time. I’m looking forward to Saturday as well!
Last year was the best scoring form of my career, and I’ve pushed on this year. Managers want forward players to contribute, and when you’re playing for Celtic, and the national team as well, there are players that are looked on to do that.
I think it’s good when you’re contributing and helping the team, and it gives you confidence as well.
Forrest has had his best scoring season in the league this time around as Celtic have gone onto win the Scottish Premiership for the eighth successive season.
Celtic have the Scottish Cup final against Hearts to come on Saturday, which is the game that could secure them an unprecedented treble Treble and supporters will be hoping Forrest can be at his best at Hampden Park.
Some of Forrest's best moments this season
St Johnstone (A)
Remember this game? Yep, us too. Just the four goals for Forrest that day as the Hoops put six back the home side.
Got on the scoresheet as the Hoops beat Hearts by five goals. He would go on to score five in two Scotland games just a couple weeks later.
Another big win during the festive period, with Forrest also getting a goal.
Forrest also got a goal in the Derby back in March as Celtic marched on to the title.
