Cristian Gamboa looks set to leave Celtic Park for a second time this summer and was tipped to be heading back to Costa Rica.
However, according to the Scotsman, the right-back looks set to join Danish giants FC Copenhagen after surprisingly turning down a move back home to 29-times Costa Rica champions Deportiva Alajuelense.
The 29-year-old has featured just seven times for the Hoops this season, five of which have come in European competitions.
Gamboa’s deal expires at the end of the current campaign and the defender will not be extending his stay in Scotland.
The defender, who has 70 caps for his country, could sign for Copenhagen, which could end in possible Champions League football next season.
Fellow right-back Mikael Lustig could also be on his way out of the club, with Malmo reportedly offering him a big money deal to switch Scotland for a return to Sweden this summer.
Four right-backs Celtic could bring in this summer for nothing
The Leicester City Premier League winner looks set to be available for nothing this summer and could be keen on a move to Scotland.
Nantes right-back Kwateng is highly regarded in France but is out of contract in the summer. The Hoops may face plenty of competition for the 22-year-old’s services.
Arsenal’s Jenkinson is another who could be available for nothing over the summer. The 27-year-old has plenty of experience in England.
Matthews spent four years at Celtic Park and could be keen on a return to Glasgow if offered the chance.
