Cristian Gamboa looks set to leave Celtic Park for a second time this summer and was tipped to be heading back to Costa Rica.

However, according to the Scotsman, the right-back looks set to join Danish giants FC Copenhagen after surprisingly turning down a move back home to 29-times Costa Rica champions Deportiva Alajuelense.

The 29-year-old has featured just seven times for the Hoops this season, five of which have come in European competitions.

Gamboa’s deal expires at the end of the current campaign and the defender will not be extending his stay in Scotland.

The defender, who has 70 caps for his country, could sign for Copenhagen, which could end in possible Champions League football next season.

Fellow right-back Mikael Lustig could also be on his way out of the club, with Malmo reportedly offering him a big money deal to switch Scotland for a return to Sweden this summer.
