Swedish giants Malmo are preparing a big money deal to sign Celtic defender Mikael Lustig this summer, according to The Celtic Star.
The report claims that fellow Swedish side AIK Stockholm are also keen on the player, who is out of contract at Celtic Park in the summer.
The 32-year-old made the move to Scotland in 2012 and has gone on to become a regular in the Hoops side in his seven-year stay.
However, with his current deal expiring in the summer, Lustig is free to talk to other sides ahead of a free transfer move.
Celtic do have the option to extend the defender’s deal for a further 12 months, something which the club are yet to do, increasing speculation of a summer exit.
Lustig’s last possible appearance for Celtic could come this weekend, as Neil Lennon’s side take on Hearts in the Scottish Cup final, knowing a win would secure a historic ‘treble treble’.
Mikael Lustig's Celtic career in numbers
Lustig has won 15 major honours with the Hoops to date. The Swede has been part of eight Scottish Premiership title-winning squads and has helped win four Scottish League Cups and three Scottish Cups.
Lustig has made a total of 284 Celtic appearances. 160 have come in the Scottish Premiership, with the remaining 124 coming in both domestic and European cup competitions.
Lustig’s last goal for the club came in the title-winning fixture against Aberdeen. In total, the defender has scored an impressive 22 times.
The Swede has collected 34 bookings during his Celtic career, with his only red card coming against Aberdeen last February.
