Benkovic refuses to rule out Celtic return
Leicester City centre-back Filip Benkovic has refused to rule out a return to Celtic next season.
Benkovic spent the year on loan to Celtic from Leicester and enjoyed a superb campaign, securing the domestic treble with the club.
Celtic won all three domestic trophies this season, including the Betfred Cup, the Scottish League title and the Scottish Cup, as Benkovic played a key role in the defence.
The Croatian defender made 20 league appearances for the club, with his game time limited due to injuries during the middle of the season, but still impressed at the heart of the defence.
Speaking to Herald Scotland, Benkovic said this:
We have spoken a little bit about what will happen but not too much as I was just concentrating on Celtic.
Should Celtic sign Benkovic again for next season?
No
Yes
I wouldn’t rule out coming back to Celtic and you never know where life will take you. I don’t know what will happen, but I really enjoyed my time at the club. I am so proud to have played for Celtic and I am so thankful for everything they did for me.
When I came to the club I expected to win games and be challenging for trophies, but for it to become a reality is incredible.
