Bournemouth join race to sign Celtic target David Turnbull

Celtic face competition in their pursuit of Motherwell’s 19-year-old playmaker David Turnbull, with Premier League Side Bournemouth now having reportedly registered their interest, according to the Daily Record.

 Neil Lennon’s men have already seen a £3 million bid rejected by the Fir Park side, and with speculation over the player’s future only intensifying by the day, it is unlikely that Turnbull will leave on the cheap this summer.

The MailSport understands that Eddie Howe is set to turn his attention to Turnbull potentially as a direct replacement for Ryan Fraser who has been touted with a £30 million move to Arsenal after finishing the season with seven goals and 14 assists – just one assist behind Europe’s leading creator Eden Hazard.

 Motherwell’s financial troubles mean they are more than willing to sell their prized asset, but in order to clear their debts they must rely upon the financial might of teams such as Bournemouth to drive up the price and incite a bidding war.

 It has also been reported that Championship clubs Derby, Wigan and Bristol City have now joined Barnsley, who like Celtic have already seen a £3 million bid rejected, in scouting Turnbull and as a result The Hoops will have to reach in to their pockets if they’re going to snatch up yet another promising Scottish prospect.
