Celtic have agreed a deal with Motherwell to sign young midfielder David Turnbull this summer.

According to The Mirror, Celtic have ironed out a £3m fee with Motherwell as they look to tie up their first signing of the transfer window.

Celtic will now look to sort out personal terms with Turnbull as Neil Lennon closes in on his first signing as Celtic’s manager on a permanent basis for a second time.

The report claims that Motherwell had turned down an offer from Celtic earlier in the window, with the Scottish giants now having had an improved bid accepted.

Turnbull enjoyed a sensational season with Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, as he scored 15 goals in 30 league appearances for the club.

This attracted interest from Celtic, who now look set to add him to their talented group of midfielders ahead of next season. He will now have the chance to test himself in the Champions League later this year.
