Celtic have been linked with a summer move for Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson, with the Daily Record saying they are looking into the rumour.
The 27-year-old made eight appearances for the Gunners in 2018/19, having been on loan at Birmingham City the previous year.
It is unlikely that Jenkinson will continue to be a key squad player under Unai Emery, so a new permanent home could be required.
There have been reports claiming a new deal at the Emirates has been agreed, however, after he was named on a list of retained players.
Jenkinson’s current Arsenal deal expires this summer, with the situation still seemingly up in the air.
The Englishman would be an interesting signing for Celtic, bringing plenty of experience with him, in an area of the pitch where reinforcements are needed.
Although predominantly a right-back, he can also thrive as a centre-back, if required.
Jenkinson joined Arsenal from Charlton Athletic in 2011, at a time when he was considered one of the most exciting up-and-coming young English players.
In total, he has made 70 appearances for the north Londoners, scoring once along the way.
5 significant career moments for Carl Jenkinson
Jenkinson started off at Charlton Athletic, where he made his debut in 2011.
It was handed to him in a Football League Trophy Southern Section semi-final clash away to Brentford, which Charlton won on penalties.
Move to Arsenal
The youngster’s impressive showings at The Valley saw Arsenal come knocking in 2011.
He signed in June of that year, for a fee of approximately £1million.
Jenkinson has one England cap to his name, which came against Sweden in November 2012.
He will hope to one day represent his country again, nearly seven years since his debut.
First Arsenal goal
Jenkinson’s one and only Arsenal goal was a proud moment for the centre-back.
It was scored away to Norwich City on the final day of the 2013/14 season.
Having looked like he may never play for Arsenal again, that changed back in February.
Jenkinson made his first Gunners start for 830 days, as they thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 at the Emirates.
