Toulouse centre-back and Celtic target Christopher Jullien is reportedly waiting on offers from England and Spain, with a move to Scotland highly unlikely.
Toulouse-focused outlet Les Violets, cited by Football Scotland, claim that the prospect of seeing the towering French defender at Celtic Park next season seems ‘unimaginable’.
The 26-year-old, who has played alongside the likes of Paul Pogba and Lucas Digne during his career, had been heavily linked with a move to Celtic Park and even reportedly had a tour of the facilities ahead of a proposed move.
However, a move now seems unlikely, with the 6ft 5in centre-back reportedly waiting for offers from the Premier League and La Liga ahead of the new season.
Jullien’s reported price tag is in the region of €8-10m, so the Hoops would possibly have needed to break their transfer record to secure the Frenchman’s services.
Neil Lennon is desperate to bolster his defensive options ahead of the new season, however, he may now have to look elsewhere to bring in a much-needed replacement for Dedryck Boyata.
Four centre-backs Celtic may now decide to target
Reading centre-back Moore has been linked with a move to Celtic in recent weeks and could prove to be an excellent signing.
Former England international Cahill wouldn’t cost the Hoops a penny, however, his large salary could be a stumbling block in a possible move.
The Hoops may well attempt to bring back Leicester defender Benkovic for a second loan spell this summer after a successful stint last season.
Webster excelled for Bristol City last season and could be another option for Neil Lennon. Southampton are thought to be keen on the 24-year-old, so competition for Webster’s services could be tough.
