Celtic are being suggested as the mystery club who have made a formal offer for young defender Bahlul Mustafazade, according to Azerbaijan outlet Sportal, cited by the Scotsman.
The report claims that the highly-rated defender has received an offer from an unnamed club, which is thought to now be Neil Lennon’s side.
The 22-year-old made 29 appearances for Azerbaijan side Gabala last season and has previously been linked with a move to Celtic Park.
Lennon is in desperate need of defensive reinforcements ahead of the new campaign after losing Belgian Dedryck Boyata to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.
A move for Mustafazade could prove to be a smart piece of business in what would be a cheap deal, however, the Hoops will more than likely be looking to bring in more options at the back.
Plenty of names have been linked with a move to Celtic Park in recent weeks and it seems as if the club have finally firmed up their interest in a defensive target with an offer for Mustafazade.
