Dinamo Zagreb defender Amir Rrahmani has turned down the chance to sign for Standard Liege this summer, increasing speculation of a move to Celtic Park. 

Belgian outlet La Derniere Heure, cited by Inside Futbol, claim that the Kosovo international has turned down an initial offer from the Belgian side.

They state that Standard Liege initiated talks with Rrahmani and will continue to attempt to sign the highly-rated defender in the current window.

The 25-year-old is valued in the region of around €2m by his current side and has been linked with a move to Celtic in recent weeks. 

The towering 6ft 4in defender has plied his trade with Dinamo Zagreb since 2016 and is currently under contract with the club until 2021, however, his parent side would be willing to sell if their demands are met.

And with Rrahmani snubbing a move to Standard Liege, the Hoops may now firm up their interest in the player with a concrete offer to Dinamo Zagreb.
