Celtic have reportedly made an enquiry to Middlesbrough over the possibility of signing Northen Ireland international Paddy McNair this summer.
According to TEAMTalk, the Hoops, along with newly-promoted Sheffield United and Championship sides Blackburn Rovers and Derby County, are all keen on the 24-year-old.
New Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate is hoping to take a look at the player as he prepares for his first full season in management next season.
However, Middlesbrough officials are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the versatile international and would look to receive the £3m fee they paid Sunderland for the player last year.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon is reportedly keen on a move for his fellow countryman this summer, with the Hoops desperate for additions in defence and midfield.
McNair can play at the back and in midfield, with the former Manchester United youngster gaining plenty of experience in recent years. A £3m move could prove to be a smart signing for next season.
Four more Championship players Celtic could possibly target
Swansea striker McBurnie enjoyed a free-scoring season in the Championship. A move for the Scotland international could be expensive, with numerous Premier League sides tracking the prolific goalscorer.
With Celtic currently short in the right-back department, Derby’s Bogle could be an excellent addition at Celtic Park. However, a move for the teenager could be a costly one.
The Hoops could be interested in a move for Leeds left-back Douglas. The Scot is known for his passing ability and could be a smart addition to the squad.
Dynamic forward Taylor helped Charlton Athletic to the Championship last season and could be another smart signing. The striker is young, powerful and has bags of pace.
