Celtic keen on Israel international Hatem Abd Elhamed
Israel centre-back Hatem Abd Elhamed has emerged as a transfer target for Celtic, according to the Daily Record.
Hoops boss Neil Lennon is reportedly keen on a move for Abd Elhamed, with the Northen Irishman hoping to bolster his defensive options even further following the arrivals of Christopher Jullien and Boli Mbombo in recent weeks.
Celtic have already spent over £10 million on Jullien, Mbombo and midfielder Luca Connell, with the Hoops now considering splashing the cash on Abd Elhamed.
The 28-year-old, who can also play as a right-back, currently plies his trade in his native country with Hapoel Beer Sheva and has impressed in recent months with some dominant displays at the back.

Abd Elhamed’s impressive performances has resulted in the player receiving his first international cap, coming on as a substitute in Israel’s Euro qualifier against Poland last month.
The defender has plied his trade for the likes of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Ashdod, Dinamo Bucharest and Gent throughout his career, and Celtic could well be the latest destination for the player if the Hoops firm up their interest with a concrete bid.
