Celtic boss Neil Lennon has confirmed he is hoping to bring in two more defensive signings this summer, the Daily Express report.
The Hoops have already brought in Christopher Jullien from Toulouse and Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo from Rapid Vienna, with the latter making his Celtic debut in the 3-1 over FK Sarajevo.
Lennon, who has also added highly-rated midfielder Luca Connell to his ranks from Bolton Wanderers, is expected to bring in more signings ahead of the new season.
And talking to the media, the Northern Irishman admitted that Jullien isn’t quite fully fit yet and is looking to bolster his centre-back options further ahead of the new campaign.
Christopher isn’t up to speed yet and we are still looking to strengthen there, too.
Lennon then went on to add that the Hoops are working hard to add a right-back to the squad, labelling an addition in that area is key.
Right-back is a key area to strengthen. Kristoffer was outstanding, but we are looking to bring quality in.
It’s not an easy process, but we are working away in the background.
Who could make the move to Celtic Park?
At right-back, Baldock is reportedly a top target for Celtic this summer. The Sheffield United full-back has just 12 months left on his current Blades deal and is thought to be valued at £3m.
Arsenal’s Jenkinson is another who could make the move to Scotland. The versatile defender, who can play at right-back and centre-back is thought to be surplus to requirements at the Emirates.
Hatem Abd Elhamed
Hapoel Be’er Sheva centre-back Abd Elhamed has enjoyed an impressive 12 months and recently earnt a senior Israel cap as a result. The Hoops are reportedly tracking the defender ahead of a potential summer swoop.
Huddersfield centre-back Jorgensen has briefly been linked with a move to the Scottish champions and is expected to leave the Terriers this summer. However, the Hoops will have to battle sides around Europe for the Danishinternational’ss services.
