Celtic supporters make Peaky Blinders comparison as young goalkepeer signs professional deal

The latest series of ‘Peaky Blinders’ looks set for a big plot twist, as lead character Thomas Shelby signs for Celtic.

That’s what many supporters are saying, anyway, following the news that youngster Vincent Angelini has signed his first professional contract with the Hoops.

Celtic announced the news on their official Twitter page and many, including myself, had to do a double-take at the photograph used, with supporters instantly comparing the youngster to Cillian Murphy, a.k.a Thomas Shelby from ‘Peaky Blinders.’

Not only does the youngster have an uncanny resemblance to the Peaky Blinders lead character, his signing also spells good news for the Hoops.

Adding another promising young player to the ranks is something Celtic are no doubt alway keen to do, and it will now be down to Angelini to impress in the Under-18 side and catch Neil Lennon’s eye.

The youngster is also the grandson of former Celtic legend Davie Hay.
