Brentford sign Dominic Thompson – A boost for Celtic’s Henry pursuit?

Brentford have perhaps dropped a hint that Rico Henry could be Celtic bound before the end of the transfer window, with the Bees confirming the signing of left-back Dominic Thompson.

The Hoops have been strongly linked with a move for Henry as they look to replace Kieran Tierney, with a figure of £7million being reported a potential fee. 

So does Brentford’s new signing of 19-year-old Thompson pave the way for Henry’s potential move to Celtic?

While there have been no official reports suggesting Celtic will now move for Henry following the Bees’ new signing, it certainly makes the Hoops’ pursuit of the 22-year-old easier.

With the Championship side already having a replacement lined up, they may be more willing to allow Henry to move on should Celtic submit a concrete offer for him.

However a move for the 22-year-old could prove risky given his recent injury record, with the left-back missing large portions of each of the previous three campaigns on the sidelines.
