Celtic are interested in signing Yannick Bolasie from Everton, as reported by Goal, with the winger set to leave Goodison Park this summer.
The 30-year old forward spent last season on loan with both Aston Villa and Anderlecht, and isn’t expected to earn his spot back in Marco Silva’s squad on Merseyside, with the DR Congo international far down the pecking order.
As well as the Hoops, Besiktas and Rennes are also believed to be chasing the former Crystal Palace man, who has already turned down the chance to leave Everton this month.
The Toffees had agreed a deal with CSKA Moscow that would see Bolasie sign on an initial loan deal with the option to buy, but Bolasie did not want to move to Russia, citing the recent racially-aggravated abuse Malcom has been subject to since moving to Zenit as a principle reason.
Moscow’s deal saw a £5million price tag attached for the permanent transfer, and any other club interested this summer will likely need to match it, while the player’s high wages will be a point of contention.

Bolasie was unlucky that his time with Everton was marred due to a severe injury that effectively ended his career in Blue. Last season though he showed he still has something to offer, albeit not at a Premier League level.
Comparing him to Scott Sinclair, another player who couldn’t make it in the Premier League yet excelled in the Scottish top flight, I think Bolasie would be an astute addition, providing he is willing to take a wage cut.
