Forrest’s landmark goal vs Motherwell has supporters calling for lifetime contract

James Forrest followed up his crucial away goal against CFR Cluj in Romania last week with his first league goal of the season in Celtic’s 5-2 victory over Motherwell on Saturday.
The winger’s second-half strike means he has now scored for Celtic in 11 successive season’s, the first Hoops player to do so since Paul McStay, though Forrest has a way to go if he is to mach his tally of scoring for 16 season’s in a row.

In response to the Tweet from Celtic’s official account, many Hoops supporters were quick to praise Forrest for his contribution to the club, with some calling for him to be given a lifetime contract and a testimonial.

Forrest has certainly been a key figure for Celtic for many season’s now, and at 28-years-old, supporters will be hoping he emulates McStay’s record of scoring in 16 consecutive league campaign’s for the Hoops.
The winger has already stated his desire to extend his current deal at the club and potentially become a one-club man, meaning that tally is certainly achievable.
While Forrest may be reaching the end of his career by the time he is 33, when McStay’s record will be in sight, he will certainly be hopeful of finding the back of the net at least once in the league.
