David Moyes believes that although Rangers are battling to close the gap on Celtic domestically, the Hoops should focus on the Champions League this season, but is he right to suggest that?

According to the Express via talkSPORT, the former Manchester United boss believes that Celtic are still currently the best team in Scotland, and therefore should focus on the Champions League.

I think they will have more competition from Rangers this year but I think the big thing for Celtic is to be in the Champions League. Celtic are still the best team but I think what we are seeing is Rangers trying and fighting hard to get closer so who knows.

But I have to say, Celtic being in the Champions League is really important for the club and the supporters as well.

But is he right to suggest that Celtic should put all their eggs in one basket?

While a return to the Champions League is certainly a huge target for Celtic this season, suggesting they place all their focus on achieving that goal is slightly naive.

The Hoops’ goal for the season will be to win the domestic treble for a fourth consecutive season, whilst also reaching the group stage of the Champions League, rather than a sole push for their European targets.
