Rab Douglas urges Celtic to sign Fraser Forster – Should he be a priority?

Rab Douglas is the latest former Celtic man to call for Neil Lennon to sign ex-goalkeeper Fraser Forster this summer, so should the Southampton man be a priority?
In his column for The Courier, Douglas spoke about the need for defensive reinforcements, including a new ‘keeper, and he believes Lennon will be looking to strengthen his options in goal after Scott Bain’s performance against CFR Cluj.
More money needs to be spent to strengthen there. For me, a left-sided and a right-sided defender are needed. Neil will also be asking himself if he needs another goalkeeper and I think the answer will be ‘yes’ to that as well. We all know what Scott Bain can do by now, especially in this part of the country.
He has done relatively well since Brendan Rodgers gave him his chance but he is more suited to the passing it out from the back style Brendan liked than Neil’s way of playing.I don’t think Neil will be looking in Scotland for a new goalie. He’ll be looking down south. Fraser Forster is the obvious one.
So should Celtic make signing Forster a priority?

Signing the Saints ‘keeper certainly should be up there with Lennon’s priorities before next month’s deadline.
Bain has had slightly uneasy start to the campaign, making mistakes in the victory over Motherwell and against Cluj respectively, and though Lennon has Craig Gordon waiting in the wings, signing Forster would add real strength.
The former Celtic shot-stopper is surplus to requirements at Saints, with Ralph Hasenhuttl looking to offload either the 31-year-old or Alex McCarthy this summer, and a return to Parkhead could resurrect his career.
